The details
Mazda built the REPU (Rotary Engine Pick-Up) for the U.S. in the mid-'70s, and the Hot Wheels casting is based on a real drift truck run by New Zealand driver Mad Mike Whiddett. This release is pure '70s workhorse: orange paint, a black stripe across the sides and tailgate, Mazda and Hot Wheels logos on the bed and 'Rotary Power' on the tailgate.
Collector #024/250, 2/10 in the 2022 HW Hot Trucks series, on the short international card. Later 2022 runs came in green and a Walmart-only Zamac; this is the original orange.
New and sealed. Collector die-cast with small parts.
